Sony has officially began rolling out the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for their 2014 and 2015 series of flagship Xperia smartphones and tablets. Starting yesterday, Sony has scaled the upgrades for it's devices including Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet. In regard to the Japanese manufacturer responsible for the Xperia lineup of devices, the mixture of Google’s late Android operating system version 5.1 Lollipop and the proprietary Sony's software will come in a sweet treat for the users of these mentioned models.
- Increased customization options, so you have even more control over the way volume, silent modes and your alerts function on the devices
- Brand new LinkedIn integration, bringing more productive with intuitive contact synchronization within your calendar app
- Camera improvements will more depend on faster snapping, with more accurate Superior Auto Mode focus for great images, under various conditions
- Enhanced enterprise support will add the latest Xperia in Business features for work
- SmartWear integration will easy selfie snapping using your Sony SmartWatch 3 as the remote shutter
Other than this, the company has let us know that, they will soon schedule update for Sony's older generation handsets, from Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact to Xperia Z Ultra, where users can expect to see the software update notification over the coming weeks, which will be then followed by Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3, and Xperia Z at the end.
