Huawei in China announces new Honor 7i



Apart from all the speculations and reports for the Google's next Nexus phone rumored from Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. there's a lot more happening with this Chinese multinational telecommunications and equipment manufacturer, especially in their homeland of business. What we saw yesterday was something different, that's off the mark from what we have been coming across everyday, basically going official with a brand new smartphone, named after the company's successful Honor series of Android handsets, the latest Huawei Honor 7i.



So what makes this different? Well, there are couple of reasons for calling the phone unmatched to it's competitors from the game, as you may have already guessed from our above title shot, it's first the unique camera component. Yes, the cutting-edge Honor 7i will feature a newer version of the rotating camera set-up, which was first introduced by the folks at Oppo. This time around, Huawei have fitted their contemporary make with a notable camera module that can be hooked up manually or more specifically the primary camera on the 7i can be swung-up to an 180 degree angle to use it as the device's front facer snapper for capturing higher quality photos (your selfies) and finer videos (what you call vlogs) with the main shooter itself.

It comes equipped with Sony's 13 megapixels back-illuminated sensor with larger f/2.0 aperture, 28 millimeters wide-angle lens, in protection of sapphire crystal, that is durable, and lets you shoot without the fear of scratches. The handset even got support to auto-focus, which is SLR level independent ISP, with 3.0 professional image processing engine, that should deliver some of the best low-light, balance and noise performance.



Second, Huawei also boasts about their first ever side fingerprint recognition integration on the Honor 7i, which brings a fingerprint reader on the side (left) of the smartphone, for the first time by any phone maker. The phone attributes full metal frame technology, with high-precision CNC grinding crafted in 6061 aluminum, that is laminated aluminum frame with T-type structure design construction, with the industry's smallest fingerprint modules, and second generation fingerprint identification chip, all adds more glory to the name of the new Huawei creation.

The biometrics on the 7i is said to unlock the phone faster with more accuracy. When the phone is on standby, placing your finger on the scanner will unlock the device automatically. With the new self-learning ability of fingerprint reader, it is written to constantly learn more from your every usage situation.

Being in summer, always brings sweat to your hands, with the correct optimization, it adapts the state of the skin, and unlocks the phone even with your moist fingers. Now with the fingerprint reader being shifted towards more of a convenient place, you can shoot by just placing your thumb on the reader, that will help you snap pictures with less blur caused due to hand-shake.

Talking about specifications of the newly announced Honor 7i, we will see it rocking a 5.2-inches Full High Definition screen of 1080 x 1920 resolution display at 423 pixels-per-inch, 1500:1 high contrast ratio, which is 50 percent higher than a normal screen. Under the hood sits an Octa-Core Snapdragon 616 SoC, and comes in two variants, one with 2 gigabytes of LPDDR3 RAM & 16 gigabytes of on board mass storage and another one with 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM plus 32 GB of internal storage capacity. Both can be further expanded via microSD card slots.

There's a 3,100mAh powered battery and Audio 2.0 transparent sound tech for crisp music entertainment. Honor 7i will run EMUI 3.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and supports all major highlights from the modern era of connectivity. The smartphone is up for sales in the country through the online retailing domain of Huawei and we seriously have no idea when we shall see it hit the market shelves, internationally.

Cricket Wireless now carrying HTC Desire 626s and LG G Stylo for the US
