Samsung Galaxy A8 is one of those smartphones, that has already made enough number of rounds on the technology media, in terms of rumored and leaked reports in the past. Finally, this afternoon, the giant South Korean consumer electronics manufacturer has officially announced the phablet/smartphone in China. Impressively, as reported by the press in their previous reads and other statements, the new Samsung handset is one of the slimmest device from the fleet of Galaxy smartphones out till date.

The new Samsung Galaxy A8 comes out of the box crafted with their alluring metal frame construction, as seen from most of Samsung Galaxy smartphones, lately, which is then shared by a sheet of scratch resistant glass (we assume it to be Corning Gorilla Glass 4) on the front and premium aluminium back plate, adding more luxury feel to the device like any other Galaxy phone from their A series. The new baby from the Korean kinsfolk is measured just under 6 millimeters in thickness (158 x 76.8 x 5.9 mm to be precise), and weighing only about 151 grams on mass, making it one of the super-slim, thinnest and lightest Samsung phone, ever official.

From it's inside, the new Galaxy A8 is a middle-ranged smartphone out to compete with other leading players in the market, breaking the walls with a fairly large 5.7-inches Full High Definition Super AMOLED screen of 1920 x 1080 resolution display, 64-bit architecture based Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core processor under the hood running at 1.5GHz and 1GHz, that makes Quad-Core + Quad-Core, respectively. There is two gigabytes of Random Access Memory on board coupled in 16 and 32 gigabytes of internal storage options, which can be further expanded by a microSD card up to 128 GB. On the back comes a 16 megapixels primary shooter with LED flash light and a five megapixels secondary snapper on the front. You will also have a dedicated fingerprint scanner or biometrics reader on the home button of the phone, like their flagships for unlocking and easy payments.

For connectivity options, the new phablet from Sammy features 4G FDD LTE and 4G TDD LTE support for network connections alongside, Near Field Communication (NFC) standby, dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4 + 5GHz WLAN , Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0 as well as GPS, Glonass, Beidou for location tracking services. Galaxy A8 packs a 3.050mAh non-removable battery and runs over Android's version 5.1.1 Lollipop right out of the box. If your a Chinese resident, you can now pre-order the phone in White, Black or Gold color option directly from their official webpage, but unfortunately we have no clues on Samsung's plans on making the Galaxy A8 available globally, at least for now.
